GuaranteesAn ethical breeder will stand behind the health and temperament of their puppies and provide written guarantees. If for any reason you can not keep your puppy, an ethical breeder will always insist on taking back a puppy you can no longer keep.
Puppy Contracts/Limited RegistrationsAll well-bred puppies should be sold with a contract. The purpose of this is to protect both parties and clearly communicate expectations and responsibilities. In addition, an ethical breeder will usually sell companion puppieson a limited AKC registration. Dogs with limited registration can compete in performance events but any puppies produced by them cannot be registered with the AKC.
